Voyager: The Flight of Chocolate, Prototype.
Materials: Cardstock, 3D Printed Resin, Procreate
My favorite activity at the airport is to buy candy or chocolate before the flight. I love travel, cooking, trying different foods, and developing new recipes. I wanted to combine these interests in a product/packaging design project. The box contains 5 chocolate "bars." The chocolate boxes are made from card stock. The design contains elements of the custom display font. The flavors are inspired by food of different countries. I first modeled the prototype of the container in CAD, then 3D printed it in resin, its top and bottom portions can be re-used as separate containers for various objects such as pens, glasses, erasers, paper clips, etc. (I haven't developed the actual chocolate recipes, just the flavor combinations), I thought these flavors would remind people of their travels. The name, "Voyager" refers to travel and exploration, the "Flight of Chocolate" plays with the literal airport theme as well as a tasting progression.
*The container would ieally be made from a coated and embossed recyclable material such as cardboard or a recycled 3D print polymer so it can be reused.
